These are all the books I started but didn't finish. Assume these are all from a library. SPOILERS AHEAD
"Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley
First of all, the prose was confusing. Second of all, it was sad. Third of all, the main character's main love interest is his sister and I don't vibe with incest. Fourth of all, the spooky scary vibe up and died when Frankenstein climbed a mountain, saw his monster, and the two of them just??? Started having a philosophical debate??? Huh??? Did I pick up the wrong version or something why did that happen. I think that was around page 50? Who knows, either way I called it quits after that.
On the bright side it was cool seeing the spark of life theory, I think in a short history of nearly everything it's mentioned that people during that time period were really into the idea of making life (alchemy?) through some sort of spark"It's like this, Cat"
Didn't even open this one lol. It just sat in the bottom of my bag for weeks
"The Ghost Map"
I was overwhelmed by all the info in the beginning. I highkey want to come back to it though
"The Lonely City" by Olivia Laing
This author's daily inner monolouge must be so beautiful and detailed and gothic; based on her writing and the details she pointed out, the way she sees the world seemed really cool. Unfortauntly, I also found this book of hers kinda really confusing, and couldn't get through it. Might come back to this one though cause as a lonely person myself it's always good to know someone else out there shares my pain
